They say you can’t choose family,
but I feel rather blessed
that I was given a special mum who stands out from the rest.
She nurtured me through childhood,
giving me great advice,
like always wear clean undies,
be courteous and nice.
My teenage years were quite a stress,
she was always there,
never loved me any less.
I travelled the world,
reaching far and wide
her sound advice, always by my side.
A mum myself I try to be
just as loving as she has been to me.
My mom pretty much single handedly raised 3, children and did it well! She’s been through more heartache than most people, (seriously she could fill a whole episode of Jeremy Kyle with what life has thrown her way!) but she never let it beat her and she used her experiences to make her the person she is and the fantastic mother she is making sure wherever possible she can protect us from anything like what she has experienced. She’s so happy and laid back and just appreciates what she has and I’m so grateful to her! X
